WhoSays? is a fast-food salad app designed for users to easily customise and order salads while meeting dietary needs and promoting ingredient transparency. Key features include dietary filters (e.g., vegan, gluten-free), an intuitive salad builder, and a searchable ingredient database.
Persona research guided the development of user flows and low-fidelity sketches, leading to essential features like login/register pages, a salad builder, and an ingredient search tool. The search feature provides users with details on ingredient provenance, nutritional pros/cons, allergen info, and ethical sourcing—supporting WhoSays?’s identity as a B Corp committed to social and environmental standards.
Additional features like saving custom salads, resetting choices, and seamless checkout were designed to enhance usability and user satisfaction.

One of the standout features of the WhoSays? App is the ingredient search page, designed for users seeking more insight into what goes into their salads. It includes a search bar, recently searched items, and a "Main Ingredients of the Week" section to highlight popular ingredients. Based on user feedback, a "Chef Specials" section will be added beneath the recent searches to give users more details about featured creations.
The core of the app is the salad builder, originally structured with three components: Base, Body, and Dressing, each with selectable checkboxes. User testing identified several improvements for the next iteration:
Ingredient tags (e.g., Vegan, Gluten-Free) at the top for quick filtering
Info icons linking to ingredient details
A save salad button for future orders
Salad size options
Usability cues like "required" tags and "multiple selection" indicators
These refinements aim to improve accessibility, transparency, and user control while aligning with the app’s core values of health, clarity, and convenience.
